Fans of the Bold and the Beautiful will be popping champagne bottles with the news that after just three weeks, Channel 10 has relented to ratings pressure and made the decision to return the US soap to its traditional 4:30pm timeslot.

The move comes after the highly promoted revival of local soap Neighbours has failed to secure from viewers.

While the premiere of Neighbours on Monday, August 18th September secured a a total national audience of 244,000, more recent episodes of Neighbours have experienced a significant audience decline which has put additional pressure on the network’s 5pm News bulletins.

From Monday, Neighbours will move to the earlier 4pm timeslot, with an encore screening at 6:30pm on 10Peach. Repeats of Judge Judy will fill the 4pm spot on Fridays as Neighbours is Monday to Thursday.

The programming switch allows fans to enjoy once again their favourite Bold and the Beautiful characters performing some long, intense staring before the nightly news theme.

A spokesperson for Channel 10 confirmed the decision telling TV Blackbox,

“We have listened to the demand from our loyal viewers to return The Bold & Beautiful to its original time slot.”

  1. What a great move to show The Bold and Beautiful to its original time of 4.30 as our whole day was aranged around the show.

  2. Neighbours… disgraceful garbage, why in the world was it rebooted.? Its comeback even more ridiculous than even.. When’s the episode that has Terese marrying a dog or the like, can’t be far away..!!!!

  3. I’ve watched Neighbours since the early 1990s, since its return the story lines are so much better than they were before the show was axed. The 4pm timeslot is fine for me, as I record the show and it means I can watch it when I get home from work.

  4. Neighbours sucks, storyline’s are pathetic and acting is shocking. Put the equally horrible Love Boat in the Neighbours time slot and it would get more viewers.

    • I’ve been watching Bold for years now (along with my husband, who’s fanatical, haha who said it was a woman’s only show.) We’ve always liked it at 4:30 because then it leads straight into the news at 5:00.

  5. the re-booted neighbours will not last more than 6 months – the new story lines are abysmal and do not make any sense. The acting is awful. Bring back the original format (that’s why the program had lasted for 37 years).

  6. I have watched Neighbours since it’s inception, I have laughed and cried.
The Neighbours that is on air now is a huge disappointment, I am waiting with baited breathe to see if their will be an improvement.

  7. I’m saying this to be constructive.
Like most of a certain age, I was a big fan of Neighbours in the 80s, but hadn’t watched it since, until the nostaglia-filled false finale.
I decided to give the reboot a chance, assuming that it might have been given a serious overhaul.
Despite my sincere intention to get onboard, I stopped after one episode because the scripts and acting were unbearably bad.

  8. I’ve loved Neighbours for decades, since the very first episode aired and I’ve been a loyal fan. I cried during the last episode but was overjoyed when I heard it was coming back. I watched the first week but barely watch it now as it’s not the upbeat, happy, family show it was when it started in the 80’s. It’s depressing! Toadie marrying Therese was a dreadful idea. I actually felt physically sick seeing them together. Therese has always seemed like a ‘mother’ figure to Toadie and it just churned my stomach. I’ve always loved Susan but all she did in the first week was to be horrible to Carl. This was depressing and monotonous. Not a very ‘feel-good’ show to enjoy. I just stopped looking forward to it. Granted, I only watched the first week so I should probably give it more of a chance before I write it off but I found it very disappointing. 🥺😞

  9. I loved neighbours before the reboot. Had watched it from the start and couldn’t understand why it was booted.
I was very happy when I heard it was coming back but after watching the new episodes I am very disappointed. It just hasn’t the same natural flow and the story lines are boring.
