Channel 10 will tonight premiere a star-studded cast for the inaugural Australian season of The Amazing Race Celebrity Edition, featuring some of our country’s best-known personalities.

The globe-trotting race is set to test relationships like never before as celebrities and their partners grapple with culture shock, limited budgets, and the unrelenting pace of the race.

Hosted by Beau Ryan, the lovable larrikin is set to inject the race with a dose of unexpected twists and turns, promising a season teeming with excitement. Our celebrities will be racing for the coveted prize of $100,000, to be donated to their chosen charity.

Contestants include, Ben Gillies, former drummer for Silverchair, will be competing alongside his wife, Jackie Gillies, known for her role in Real Housewives of Melbourne. Speaking on the competition, Gillies emphasised the show’s potential to bring participants into the present moment.

Ex-athlete and now doctor, Jana Pittman, mother to six children, will be joining the race with her eldest son, Cornelius. They aim to secure the prize money for the Royal Hospital for Women. Pittman emphasised the race’s opportunity to spend quality time with her son.

Other notable contestants include TV host Grant Denyer and wife Chezzie, AFL WAG Bec Judd and her sister Kate Twigley, reality star Harry Jowsey and friend Teddy Briggs, comedian Dane Simpson and his father Bow, and singer Alli Simpson with her mother Angie.

Further adding to the star power, the cast features former Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins and her sister Hayley, presenter Darren McMullen and nephew Tristan, Australian Survivor contestant George Mladenov and his sister Pamela, and comedian Peter Rowsthorn and his daughter Frankie.

Allie & Angie Simpson Alli Simpson, a 25-year-old multifaceted talent, who once hosted Radio Disney for seven million listeners, teams up with her mother, Angie Simpson. Angie, a children’s book author and previous participant in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, is eager to cherish and share this experience with her daughter. “I look forward to making magical memories with her,” she expresses.

Bec Judd & Kate Twigley Rebecca Judd, an iconic media figure known for her influential digital presence, partners with her sister Kate Twigley. Kate, who once imagined herself as an Amazing Race contestant, shares the sentiment, saying, “Participating in the race is a ‘pinch me’ moment for me.”

Dane & Bow Simpson Comedian Dane Simpson, who made ripples with his appearance on shows like Have You Been Paying Attention?, joins the race with his father Bow Simpson. They look forward to sharing stories and laughs on their journey.

Darren McMullen & Tristan Dougan Veteran television presenter Darren McMullen pairs with his competitive nephew Tristan Dougan. The duo, with Scottish roots, showcase contrasting views on their strategy. “I’ll just be here for the brains,” Darren jests.

Emma & Hayley Watkins Acclaimed dancer and Wiggles member Emma Watkins teams up with her model and actress sister Hayley Watkins. The siblings, both passionate and competitive, bring a blend of dance and charisma to the race.

George & Pamela Mladenov George Mladenov, notorious for his sharp strategies in Australian Survivor, is set to charm the race alongside his sister Pamela Mladenov. Pam, a successful hairdresser, expects the journey to be filled with “tantrums, drama and meltdowns.”

Grant & Chezzi Denyer Television stalwart Grant Denyer collaborates with his wife Chezzi Denyer. The duo, who co-host It’s All True Podcast, have prepped well with a distinct game plan for the race.

Harry Jowsey & Teddy Briggs Harry Jowsey, known for Too Hot to Handle on Netflix, teams with his best friend Teddy Briggs. The reality stars, accustomed to luxury, are set to bring a mix of charm and fun to the competition.

Jackie & Ben Gillies Psychic medium Jackie Gillies and Silverchair band member Ben Gillies join forces for the race. Jackie’s energetic personality contrasts with Ben’s calm demeanour, making them a team to watch.

Jana Pittman & Cornelis Rawlinson World-renowned athlete Jana Pittman partners with her athletic son Cornelis Rawlinson. The mother-son duo is excited about the bonding opportunity the race offers.

Peter & Frankie Roswthorn Comedian Peter Rowsthorn, known for Kath & Kim, and his rising comic daughter Frankie Rowsthorn promise to bring humour and wit to the race.

The contestants will journey across the world, experiencing the thrill of foreign cultures, the pressure of tight budgets, and the non-stop pace of the race. Fans are told to brace for a season unlike any other as the celebrity racers vie for the ultimate prize: $100,000 for their chosen charity.

Each team has chosen a charity to support. Alli Simpson and her mother, Angie, will be raising funds for Dementia Australia. Bec Judd and her sister, Kate Twigley, are supporting Impatient Advocacy – A Nicole Cooper Foundation. Ben and Jackie Gillies have chosen the Moira Kelly Creating Hope Foundation. Harry Jowsey and Teddy Briggs will race for Beyond Blue.

Grant and Chezzie Denyer have Lifeline as their chosen charity. Dane and Bow Simpson are supporting the Darugal Elders in Wolgan. George Mladenov and his sister Pamela have chosen the Bankstown Women’s Health Centre as their charity.

The competition promises not only to be an unforgettable journey for the contestants but also a unique experience for viewers. Fans of the show should prepare themselves for a season filled with excitement, surprises, and a line-up of celebrities ready to push themselves to the limit.
