A fresh episode of Kitchen Cabinet promises viewers an intimate look into the life of the National’s Senator for Victoria, Bridget McKenzie.

Kitchen Cabinet, which debuted in 2011, finds its charm in Annabel Crabb sharing a culinary experience with influential figures from Australia’s Federal Parliament.

The episode takes us to Wodonga, Victoria, where Crabb and Senator McKenzie kick off their meeting with a thrilling session at a rifle range, testing their skills on clay targets. As the day progresses, they find solace in McKenzie’s regional abode, where they delve into the art of crafting a delectable smoked trout pasta.

“Being in the heart of a political storm is unlike anything else,” shares McKenzie. With an air of introspection, she sheds light on her journey – how a regional youngling with dreams of espionage found her path in the political arena.

For the unacquainted, KITCHEN CABINET, piloted by Crabb, revolves around her visiting the homes of politicians, engaging in delightful culinary escapades. While the host whips up a dessert, the featured politician showcases their culinary prowess with a main dish.

The current season of the show is slated to feature an eclectic mix of political figures. Names that stand out include the former Home Affairs Minister, Karen Andrews, Minister for Indigenous Australians, Linda Burney, Opposition Leader, Peter Dutton, and more like the Independent Dai Le, Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John, Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe, and Labor Minister Anika Wells.

With a legacy in the Parliamentary Press Gallery since 1999, Crabb remarks upon the evolving fabric of the Parliament, highlighting its burgeoning diversity.

For enthusiasts keen on a nostalgic trip, KITCHEN CABINET has previously graced our screens for six seasons between 2012 and 2016. A repertoire boasting over 40 politicians is accessible for a rerun, offering viewers a chance to rediscover insights into the political world.

Behind the scenes, the production team includes Director Stamatia Maroupas, Executive Producer Madeleine Hawcroft, Producer Pauline Ernesto, Associate Producer Brett Worthington, and Editors Elizabeth Graetz & Sally Moran.

Kitchen Cabinet – Series 7, Episode 7 of 8 airs Tuesday 26 September at 8.00pm on ABC and iview
