The Block is boiling over with tension as its contestants dive headfirst into kitchen and laundry week—one of the most critical phases in the three-month build.

Steph and Gian secured the top spot with their striking master bedroom and walk-in wardrobe. They opted to take Eliza and Liberty along on a lavish getaway to the Crown Hotel that includes a thrilling hot lap around Phillip Island.

Not everyone was thrilled with their victory. Kristy and Brett openly offered $5,000 to purchase the coveted prize from Steph and Gian, who graciously declined. This led to more verbal jabs from Kristy and Brett, who continued their ongoing feud with Leah, accusing Steph of tactically choosing her getaway companions.

The accusations didn’t stop there. During the Domain Open for Inspections, Leah and her partner Ash raised eyebrows at the perfect 10 awarded to Steph and Gian by judge Marty Fox.

All hands are on deck as the contestants, also known as Blockheads, construct their Kinsman kitchens. Kristy and Brett face a particularly challenging week; not only are they building a kitchen, they also have a dining space and laundry to finish. This duo has had the additional burden of restumping most of their downstairs residence throughout the competition.

Adding a twist, the Blockheads are divided into two teams to renovate the Bayside Community and Information Support Centre (BayCISS). Kristy and Brett, Leah and Ash, along with Eliza and Liberty, make up the first team tasked with revamping the interior.

Steph and Gian, along with Kyle and Leslie, are teamed up with Block landscaper Dave Franklin to work on the outdoor landscaping of BayCISS, making it a truly rewarding challenge for all.

Meanwhile, the tension is palpable even during leisure activities. Over dinner at the Crown Hotel, host Scott Cam questioned Steph and Gian, along with Eliza and Liberty, about their alliances. Steph confessed that despite her outward bravery, she often feels the pressure from Kristy and Brett, as well as Leah and Ash.

Scott didn’t hold back his advice for Eliza and Liberty. Telling them to quit lamenting their status as “cooked tunas,” he suggested they take more control over their build. To assist them, Scott introduced a new team of builders in a swanky wine bar, leaving the sisters contemplating a change.

The episode closed on a heated note as Kristy boldly stated she’s not on The Block to make friends, directing her ire toward Eliza and Liberty, Steph and Gian, and Kyle and Leslie.

As alliances continue to form and crumble, Kitchen and Laundry Week promises to be an epic chapter in this season’s The Block.

The Block continues 7:30pm Tuesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
