Wednesday night on MKR, New South Wales twins Radha and Prabha cooked up a storm, leaving even the hard-to-please judge Colin Fassnidge emotional.

Their Instant Restaurant, dubbed Radha and Prabha’s Royal Dhaba, featured their late father’s cherished recipe.

Faced with a conundrum, the twins pondered over their menu’s spice level. “Tonight’s menu is going to be spicy. Really spicy. We know that there are guest teams there that don’t like too much heat and that’s playing at the back of our mind, like, do we dumb it down for them?” They worried that the spicy flavours might obscure their culinary skills.

Their opening dish, Chicken 65 with Mint Yogurt, had judges reaching for water, fanning fears among the twins. “If they burn their taste buds, they can’t score us appropriately with the flavour that we’ve put in there,” an anxious Radha stated.

However, the judges were charmed. Manu Feildel found the chicken to be a “a perfect bite every time”, while Colin admired their courage, stating, “You cooked your food the way you cook it. Next course, don’t hold back on the chilli.” Judge Nick chipped in, calling them “the silent assassins are no longer silent with this dish.”

Buoyed by the success, Radha and Prabha’s main course was Lamb Rogan Josh, amped up with extra green chillies. It was another hit, putting them ahead of competitors Tommy and Rach. Manu remarked that he hadn’t sampled a Rogan Josh in an Australian Indian restaurant that could match theirs.

Emotion flooded the room as the duo shared that the dish was a tribute to their late father. Colin was visibly moved: “How am I gonna do a critique now?”

While the twins stumbled a bit with their dessert, Jalebi with Rabri, the overall atmosphere remained upbeat. Their final score was a commendable 87 out of 110, with Manu and Colin each giving them perfect tens for their entrée and main course.

Anticipation is soaring for next week’s episode, featuring Coco and Pearls’ Instant Restaurant. The duo has raised the stakes by promising three tens from the judges. Will they live up to the hype?
