Matildas to headline CHANNEL 7’s biggest night of sport in more than two decades

The broadcast schedule for Quarter-Final thriller of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ confirmed only on Channel 7.

Australia will unite on the Seven Network on Saturday for the biggest sporting party in 23 years as our Matildas face France in what will be a history-making FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ Quarter Final.

7SPORT anchor Mel McLaughlin and broadcasting icon Bruce McAvaney will once again lead Seven’s live coverage direct from Brisbane Stadium of the entire match including any extra time, from 4.00pm AEST live and free on Channel 7 and 7plus.

A special edition of 7NEWS will immediately follow the match in each state (check local guides).

The live sport action then continues on Seven when Melbourne takes on Carlton at the MCG, from 7.30pm AEST on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plus.

The following matches will round out Seven’s AFL Round 22 coverage:

  • Friday, 10 August: Collingwood v Geelong
  • Saturday, 11 August: Sydney Swans v Gold Coast SUNS (Brisbane and Sydney only)
  • Saturday, 11 August: Brisbane Lions v Adelaide Crows (Brisbane and Adelaide only)
  • Saturday, 11 August: West Coast Eagles v Fremantle (Perth only)
  • Sunday, 12 August: St Kilda v Richmond
  • Sunday, 12 August: Port Adelaide v GWS GIANTS (Adelaide and Sydney only)

“Between the Matildas and finals footy coming early for AFL with the Carlton v Melbourne thriller, it doesn’t get bigger than Saturday night across the screens of Seven. 

“Like the rest of Australia, Seven is right behind the Matildas and we have worked closely with the AFL to adjust bounce times for certain games on Saturday to ensure no one misses a minute of what will be a massive night for both women’s football and AFL,”

So far, Seven’s coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ has reached 9.25 million broadcast viewers plus another 1.67 million on 7plus. More than 185 million minutes of content has been watched on 7plus to date.

Seven’s FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ Quarter Finals coverage will also include Friday night’s Japan v Sweden clash, from 5.00pm AEST live and free on 7two and 7plus.

Following the Quarter Finals, Seven will be there for the Semi Finals, the Final and every Matildas game – broadcast live and free for all Australians across Seven and 7plus.
