Season 3 of FIVE BEDROOMS finally arrives on free-to-air

After previously only being available on streaming platform Paramount+, popular Australian drama Five Bedrooms finally returns with its third season this August on Channel 10

This surrogate family are more fiercely loving and functional than your average biological clan.

There’s the fallen socialite, Liz (Kat Stewart), laconic tradie, Ben (Stephen Peacocke), firecracker middle-aged mum, Heather (Doris Younane), cautious doctor, Harry (Roy Joseph) and tragic romantic, Ainsley (Katie Robertson).

The arrangement that began as a risky short-term solution is now an empirical success, a genuine long-term prospect, and maybe even a preferable version of family and life?

In season three, Evie’s nursery has been turned into a functioning bed and breakfast that is finally ready for its debut, there’s a break-up for the house to navigate, an opportunity to become a parent, and finally, the first Five Bedrooms wedding.

Each of these events strike at the core question of the series – what’s the best way to live a life, and who are the best people to live that life with?

In the season premiere episode and with the entire house depending on him, Ben launches himself as a B&B accommodation provider. He’s feeling every inch of the pressure, but he’s rising like a boss, until his teenage daughter crash lands at the house, distraught and demanding she move in.

To put it mildly, this is a very complicated fatherhood test for Ben, as he navigates trying to meet Mia’s needs along with being a supportive co-parent to his ex-wife Rebecca, who’s also dealing with a ten-month-old and a disintegrating marriage.

Luckily, he’s got steadfast Heather around to support and guide him through the tricky territory.

This group of five misfits first found each other at an all-too-familiar setting, the dreaded singles’ table at a wedding, where liquid courage gave them the ballsy bravado to pitch in and buy a house together. A communal approach to Australia’s property crisis, they split the impossible cost of homeownership five ways.
