ABC’s Q+A is set to join BTN High for a unique collaboration aimed at giving a platform to the voices of Gen Z in a digital special.
The episode, airing on ABC iview and social media at 6:30pm on Wednesday, July 19, will see a panel of Gen Z representatives, along with the Minister for Youth Anne Aly, grapple with critical issues they foresee in their future.
Hosted by BTN’s Amelia Moseley, the conversation promises to dive deep into the future of jobs, the climate crisis, and its implications for the younger generation.
Joining Amelia Moseley live from Melbourne will be Minister for Youth & Early Childhood Education Anne Aly, actor, poet and activist Aud Mason-Hyde, Year 12 student Amarley Bron, a Biripi Worimi woman, Leo Puglisi, Founder and chief anchor of 6 News Australia & Year 10 student, Laura Strawbridge, NSW Youth Parliament & Year 12 student, and Will Shackel, Founder of Nuclear for Australia & Year 11 student.
Questions surrounding the cost of university education, the impact of artificial intelligence on their lives, and the rapidly evolving dynamics of social media will be explored.
This generation, which has never known a world without the internet, faced an abrupt shift in education due to the pandemic, leading to a significant focus on the impacts of home learning and the potential ramifications on their futures.
The Q+A team has invited questions from the public via their website for a chance to engage with the panel.
After this unique collaboration, Q+A is scheduled to return to its regular on-air broadcast format on Monday, July 24.
