It’s a very different story after 7pm for Australia’s number one and two commercial TV networks.
Channel 9
A Current Affair (677,000) slides down into Rush (268,000) which is really struggling (nearly a third down on its lead-in) to build any kind of serious audience for Nine. Wimbledon 2023: Day 2 (165,000) draws another small yet loyal audience into the late night.
Nine first in primary (17.7%) and second in network (25.4%) rankings.
Channel 7
I mean…when Home & Away (450,000) is Seven’s best again by a significant margin there’s some issues with the primetime schedule. Million Dollar Island Australia (257,000) is not firing at all, and slipped again on last night’s meagre total to land in fourth–again. The Rookie (198,000), The Rookie: Feds (123,000), and The Blacklist (33,000) all offer little more than fan service at the end of the schedule.
Seven second in primary (17.4%) and first in network (27.5%) rankings.
Channel 10
The Project (180,000 6:30pm; 293,000 7pm) and MasterChef Australia (487,000) continue to do consistently for 10, with the latter taking a solid win in primetime. The Cheap Seats (375,000) again takes the follow-on win, ticking up significantly week-on-week, and is cementing itself as must-watch TV each week. Repeats of NCIS (106,000) and Riptide (37,000) cannot be accused of the same fate.
10 third in both primary (12.6%) and network (19.8%) rankings.
ABC
7:30 (448,000) and the premiere of New Leash On Life (310,000) offer a reasonable start for ABC and landing second in primetime, followed by the second episode of The Black Hand (213,000). Wash My Soul In The River’s Flow (60,000) and a repeat of Four Corners (26,000) hold a small audience into the late night.
ABC fourth in both primary (10.6%) and network (16.7%) rankings.
SBS
Great Coastal Railway Journeys (159,000) and Insight (145,000) all set the stage on SBS for Tour de France: Stage 4 (114,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (6.8%) and network (10.6%) rankings.
