The new television series ‘Gold Coast Ocean Rescue’ takes audiences inside the thrilling marine missions of Sea World’s elite rescue squad.
Launching at 6pm on Saturday, 8 July, on 7two and 7plus, the series offers an insider’s view of the action-packed operations undertaken by the Gold Coast-based team of vets and marine scientists, who tirelessly work to preserve and protect the planet’s most endangered marine creatures.
The Gold Coast, famed for its picturesque beaches, serves as home to this team of animal experts who fearlessly plunge into the face of danger to rescue distressed marine life, including sea turtles, dolphins, penguins and sea snakes. From wrestling with formidable sharks to freeing whales caught in fishing nets, or even extracting a troublesome tooth from a polar bear, there isn’t a mission too precarious for this committed group.
The series also captures the sentimental moments of these challenging operations, with emotions running high during the rescue of these marine creatures from life-threatening situations.
If a rescued animal is too severely injured or ill to be immediately released, it is transported to Sea World’s cutting-edge facility for treatment and rehabilitation. The principal aim of these operations is to rescue, rehabilitate, and then release these creatures back into their natural habitats.
In addition to focusing on the rescue missions, ‘Gold Coast Ocean Rescue’ sheds light on Sea World’s pioneering research and conservation efforts. Audiences will witness how this specialist team ventures to extreme lengths, both locally and internationally, to protect the world’s endangered sea life.
