The Australian television landscape is set for a shake-up with the unveiling of Channel 9’s new globe-trotting adventure series, Rush.

Brought to life by Endemol Shine Australia and Nine, the reality show will make its debut on Sunday, July 2, at 7:00pm, viewable both on Channel 9 and its digital platform, 9Now.

In “Rush,” the world is transformed into an expansive playground as three teams of Aussie competitors embark on an international challenge that spans nine countries – Brazil, Turkey, Jordan, India, Thailand, Ireland, France, Kenya, and South Africa. The mission is straightforward: be the first to complete each country’s challenges and move to the next destination.

The teams will be thrust into the heart of each country’s cultural tapestry, participating in major local events and basking in the ambiance of renowned locations. These include the vibrant Carnival in Rio, the spirited St Patrick’s Day in Dublin, the colourful Holi festival in India, and the electrifying Tomorrowland music festival in France.

The travellers are introduced to each new environment with their senses deprived, courtesy of noise-cancelling headphones and blackout goggles. Upon their removal, their first task is to locate the show’s host, David Genat. The former model and “Survivor” winner will present them with their mission instructions.

In every country, Genat will assign them a series of tasks that they must accomplish while navigating the local culture’s chaos. These tasks might involve organising and winning a soccer match in Rio, locating and photographing the Stone of Sacrifice in Petra, Jordan, or bungee jumping from the world’s highest bridge, Bloukrans Gorge, in South Africa.

The competition brings a ruthless edge: the last team to reach the escape zone in each country will have to cut one member from their team. As the competition intensifies, the teams will diminish until only individuals remain. The lone victor will walk away with $100,000 and two first-class, round-the-world airline tickets.

To add to the excitement, the show’s line-up offers a diverse range of Aussie personalities.
