Kriukelis’ new role marks another feather in her cap in an already stellar media journey of nearly two decades. Her credentials include coverage of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, reporting on Royal tours in Australia and New Zealand, and securing a national news, sport, and weather presenting role on the TODAY Show. Kriukelis, a local and national media award recipient, will continue her tradition of excellence in her new role.

Expressing her affection for her home state, Kriukelis said,

“The unique essence of Queensland, from the sunshine to the sporting teams, and our passionate people to our picture-perfect locales, is unrivalled. I cherish the opportunity to share the stories of this great state, and this new role will allow me to connect more deeply with the Queenslanders in the afternoon.”

Amanda Paterson, Nine Queensland Director of News, lauded Kriukelis’ contribution over the past decade. She said,

“Aislin’s ability to tell stories that resonate with our viewers has made her an invaluable part of our newsroom. We are excited to see her bring this skillset to the afternoon news desk, giving Queenslanders another chance to welcome her into their homes.”
