The interview series, hosted by actor David Wenham, invites a variety of esteemed Australians to reminisce about their past through unexpected moments found in the expansive ABC archives.
Germaine Greer’s episode, the seventh in the series, offers a rare insight into the life of the trailblazer who rocketed to global prominence in 1970 following the release of her seminal work “The Female Eunuch.”
Unseen footage from 1959, featuring a 20-year-old Greer working on an Alan Hopgood play, provides a unique glimpse into her life before fame. In a candid and introspective conversation, Greer reflects on her turbulent childhood, rebellious youth, and her fears now living in aged care.
The series also features in-depth interviews with other Australian luminaries, including former Prime Minister Julia Gillard, cricket legend Ian Chappell, indigenous advocate and performer Miranda Tapsell, actor Jack Thompson, comedian and broadcaster Wendy Harmer, and Greig Pickhaver, one half of Australia’s favourite comedy duo.
