Once-a-week reality runs hard against two-part “event television” drama, with long-form, multi-night reality chasing behind like an excited small dog…all while Kevin McCloud is standing looking amazed at a ludicrously-proportioned building somewhere in the background.
Channel 7
Dancing With The Stars (645,000) maintains its season twenty dominance for Seven, taking first place in primetime again and down only negligibly on last week. 7News Spotlight (305,000) slips into second afterwards, as Born To Kill? (96,000) and Autopsy USA (53,000) see the audience largely vanish.
Seven first in primary (22.8%) and second in network (29.5%) rankings.
Channel 9
The first part of Warnie (528,000) goes big for Nine, however not big enough to win primetime. 60 Minutes (357,000) builds on its lead-in to take the following slot, before a repeat of Australian Crime Stories (148,000) and The First 48 (102,000) run out the schedule with much smaller viewer numbers. The Women’s Ashes: Day 4 S1 (125,000) draws a loyal audience to 9Gem.
Nine second in primary (20.1%) and first in network (31.5%) rankings.
Channel 10
With The Sunday Project (198,000 6:30pm; 297,000 7pm) and MasterChef Australia (460,000) performing consistently, 10 are finding some love earlier in the night. FBI (185,000) and a repeat of NCIS: Hawaii (111,000) capture only fans of the franchises in the late night.
10 third in both primary (11.7%) and network (16.9%) rankings.
ABC
The ABC see a small lift with Grand Designs Revisited (377,000) that runs into Silent Witness (297,000), however The Messenger (90,000) has solidified its small audience. Repeats of In Limbo (32,000) and Mayfair Witches (DNR) close out the night.
ABC fourth in both primary (10.1%) and network (14.1%) rankings.
SBS
SBS slide in an uninspiring night with Queens of Ancient Egypt (95,000 (triple ep average)) and Patagonia (52,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.6%) and network (8%) rankings.
