In the latest development from Stan, the streaming giant has given a tantalising first look at the forthcoming series “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”, set to join its exclusive line-up.

The series continues the journey of popular character Daryl Dixon, portrayed by Norman Reedus, who mysteriously washes ashore in France, struggling to unravel his circumstances.

The intriguing series sees Dixon’s arrival in France sparking hostility from leaders of an emerging autocratic movement in Paris. Dixon also crosses paths with a young boy central to a benevolent religious movement called the Union of Hope, leading him into unexpected alliances.

In return for the Union’s assistance in his journey back to America, Dixon agrees to accompany the child and his caretakers on their pilgrimage to The Nest, a purported sanctuary. The series follows his path across a shattered yet enduring France, exploring the complexities of his evolving relationships and the glimmer of hope they offer. The series also stars Clémence Poésy (The Essex Serpent) and Adam Nagaitis (Red Rose).

Stan has exclusively bagged the rights to “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” in Australia, along with two other highly-anticipated new entries in The Walking Dead Universe – “The Walking Dead: Dead City” and the as-yet-untitled Rick and Michonne series.

“Dead City”, now streaming on Stan simultaneously with the U.S., stars Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan reprising their roles as Maggie and Negan. The series sees the duo journeying to post-apocalyptic Manhattan on a mission to rescue Maggie’s son Hershel from a kidnapper. The series also features Gaius Charles (Roswell, New Mexico), Željko Ivanek (Madam Secretary), and Logan Kim (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), with showrunner and executive producer Eli Jorné, Scott M. Gimple, Brian Bockrath, Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan at the helm.

This spin-off from the ground-breaking U.S. series that set records as the highest-rated cable television series of all time, offers a gritty exploration of a desolate New York City, overrun by the dead and its own anarchic inhabitants. Negan and Maggie, erstwhile enemies, are forced into a reluctant alliance, their shared past proving as formidable a challenge as the present dangers.

The Rick and Michonne series, featuring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, is slated for a 2024 premiere.

The first episode of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” is currently streaming on Stan, with new episodes available every Monday, same day as the U.S.

The much-awaited “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” is expected to arrive soon, exclusively on Stan.
