As we turn the calendar to July 2023, BritBox is set to captivate Australian audiences with a fresh, all-star line-up of quintessential British content.

The latest offerings from the streaming giant boast of captivating murder mysteries, heart-stopping premieres straight from the UK, and a host of new releases that promise to keep viewers on tenterhooks.

Spearheading the July line-up is “Six Four,” a gripping four-part crime drama series making its exclusive premiere on BritBox. The series is based on Hideo Yokoyama’s bestselling novel and is set in Edinburgh. “Six Four” features star-studded performances by Kevin McKidd (known for “Trainspotting” and “Brave”), Vinette Robinson (“Sherlock,” “The A Word”), and Nalini Chetty (“Karen Pirie”).

The plot centres on the mysterious disappearance of Police Detective Chris O’Neill’s child, leading to the unraveling of a broader conspiracy involving lies, betrayal, and corruption. Upon its premiere, the series made a record-breaking debut on ITVX, with all its episodes featuring in the top 10 most viewed on the streaming service. “Six Four” is scheduled to land on BritBox from 1 July 2023.

Next up is the return of the comedic crime series, “The Curse.” Marking its second season, the ’80s heist comedy stars Tom Davis (“King Gary,” “Murder in Successville”) and Emer Kenny (“Karen Pirie,” “Father Brown”), and features the writing prowess of BAFTA award-winners Steve Stamp (“People Just Do Nothing”) and Allan Mustafa (“Peacock,” “BBC Comedy Feeds”).

The new season sees the hapless crooks reunite 18 months after their audacious gold heist, this time under the scorching Spanish sun. The Guardian UK lauds the series with a 4-star rating, describing it as “genuinely funny” and “comedy gold.” The second season of “The Curse” is set to tickle your funny bone from 27 July 2023.

Also joining the BritBox roster in July is the ninth season of “Digging for Britain.” The riveting documentary series, hosted by renowned anatomist and biological anthropologist Alice Roberts, delves into the rich and diverse history of the UK. From Neolithic hand axes to elaborate Roman keys and Saxon swords, “Digging for Britain” uncovers and examines the hidden stories within Britain’s landscapes.

The series will take viewers on a journey through the various geographical locales of the UK, from East to South, North, Midlands, and West. “Digging for Britain” is set to premiere on BritBox from 11 July 2023.

So, buckle up, Australian audiences. With such a spellbinding line-up from BritBox this July, it’s going to be a mesmerising ride!
