Disney+ has unveiled the premiere date for the third season of the highly-acclaimed original comedy series, “Only Murders in the Building,” in Australia. Produced by 20th Television, the new season is slated for release on August 8th.
The show, produced by 20th Television, will see a reunion of Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, reprising their roles as Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora respectively.
Adding to the star-studded cast for Season 3 is Paul Rudd, who made a brief appearance in the Season 2 finale. Rudd’s character, Ben Glenroy, will take centre stage in the new season as the main trio investigates his murder.
Additionally, Season 3 will see veteran actress and Oscar winner Meryl Streep joins the cast, although details about her character remain under wraps. Other notable additions include Jesse Williams, best known for “Grey’s Anatomy,” and Ashley Park, famed for her role in “Emily in Paris.” Williams is set to play a documentarian intrigued by Ben’s murder, while Park will portray a Broadway star named Kimber.
“Only Murders in the Building” is a unique blend of comedy and murder-mystery, born from the creative minds of Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman, and John Hoffman. The series follows the story of three strangers sharing a fascination for true crime, who find themselves immersed in a real-life murder mystery in their upscale Upper West Side apartment building. As they navigate their way through intricate secrets and personal lies, they realise they might be living amidst a killer and race against time to interpret the growing number of clues.
The series is co-created and written by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, who also serve as executive producers, along with Martin Short, Selena Gomez, “This Is Us” creator Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal.
