Paramount+ has released the official first trailer for its upcoming original UK drama series, No Escape.
No Escape follows the story of best friends Lana and Kitty, played by Abigail Lawrie and Rhianne Barreto respectively, who flee their lives in the UK and take refuge on a yacht called The Blue in Southeast Asia.
However, the paradise they thought they had found turns into a nightmare as they uncover the dark secrets that the yacht and its enigmatic crew hide.
The show, produced by All3Media’s New Pictures, is based on Lucy Clarke’s best-selling novel of the same name. The series was filmed on location in Thailand last year and is set to launch on Paramount+ soon.
No Escape also features an impressive ensemble cast, including Jay Ryan, Sean Keenan, Colette Dalal Tchantcho, Elmo Anton Stratz, and Narayan David Hecter as the crew onboard The Blue. Susie Porter and Josh McConville play Australian detectives investigating the mystery of The Blue, while Jake Macapagal portrays Captain Reyes from the local Filipino Police force, determined to uncover what happened onboard The Blue.
Kris Mrksa, writer for the show, was thrilled with the final product, stating,
“The series is breathtaking: transportive, gripping, and thrilling from beginning to end. I can’t wait for viewers to fall in love with it, too!”
No Escape is one of the first original dramas commissioned in the UK that will debut across Paramount+ internationally. The lead director for the series is Hans Herbots, known for his work on The Serpent and Cobra, while New Pictures’ Elaine Pyke and Willow Grylls serve as executive producers alongside Mrksa.
