No more double episodes of Graham Norton…. Local programming is returning to Friday nights on Channel 10.
When Channel 10 announced its somewhat unsurprising decision to “rest” the burnt-out, lifestyle/advertorial series The Living Room, the network was quick to reassure us that it would be continuing to invest in local programming for the Friday timeslot.
However, until now we have been left wondering exactly what that content could be…
Well we now have an answer, from April 14, Channel 10 will commence airing brand new episodes of the popular observational documentary series Bondi Rescue in the Friday timeslot.
In the season 17 premiere episode of Bondi Rescue, and after two years of closed borders and wet summers, Bondi is back at its busy best as international and interstate visitors return to join locals on the world’s most famous beach.
With all the foreign tourists returning, great weather and lots of big swell the lifeguards have their work cut out for them in one of the busiest summers they’ve ever had.
I doubt that Bondi Rescue will rate any better than The Living Room was, but at least Ten is trying to offer something new on Friday nights that is locally produced and not sport.
