ONE Championship and Seven Network have announced an exclusive partnership to bring martial arts events and content to Australian audiences for the first time.
As part of the broadcast deal, Seven will broadcast ONE Fight Night and ONE Friday Fights events on 7plus, a streaming platform that will provide free-to-air access to the martial arts events.
Fans will also have access to event highlights and ONE’s library archive, which includes more than 100 past events and 500 hours of content. The first live event under the partnership will be broadcasted on March 17.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone as Seven Network will broadcast mixed martial arts content to its audience, further strengthening its position as the most-watched sports broadcaster in the country.
The partnership meets the growing demand for combat sports and aims to expand the network’s offering to reach a wider mainstream fanbase.
Hua Fung Teh, Co-Founder and Group President of ONE Championship, expressed his excitement and honor to partner with Seven, the country’s number one broadcast network. He said,
“This is yet another historic milestone in ONE’s journey, and we can’t wait to engage with our growing fanbase in Australia and give them the free-to-air access to our martial arts events that they’ve been waiting for.”
Gereurd Roberts, Seven West Media Chief Digital Officer, also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, adding that this would further consolidate 7plus’ position as the go-to destination for sports fans in Australia.
