Annie Jones is among some old favourites returning to Ramsay Street in 2023.

Plans are coming together for the new series of Neighbours with some key cast appointments announced.

Annie Jones (as Jane Harris), Rebekah Elmaloglou (as Terese Willis), Georgie Stone (as Mackenzie Hargreaves), and Tim Kano (as Leo Tanaka) will reprise their roles as series regulars. Returning in guest roles are Ian Smith (as Harold Bishop), April Rose Pengilly (as Chloe Brennan), and Melissa Bell (as Lucy Robinson). They will be joined by Neighbours icons Stefan Dennis, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney, and Jackie Woodburne, as previously announced.

Despite speculation within the industry a deal was in place to bring back the iconic soap before the finale aired in 2022, Annie Jones is thrilled to be returning, saying:

“I’m beyond excited to be back for this new chapter of Neighbours. It was totally unexpected but an absolute delight to be asked again to join the cast. I can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for Jane.”

Production is set to commence this Autumn, with a world premiere slated for this Spring. Network 10, which aired Neighbours for 36 years, will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new chapter of the series, and episodes will be available ad free on Prime Video in Australia seven days later.

Fans around the world will be able to watch for free exclusively on Amazon Freevee in the UK and U.S. The series will also stream on Prime Video in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa.

Previous seasons of Neighbours as well as many iconic episodes are currently available to stream on Prime Video in Australia and New Zealand.

Rebekah Elmaloglou seems pleased to be returning to our screens soon, saying:

“Honestly, I’m just as much in the dark as our fans and equally as excited, and a little nervous to see what the writers have planned for Terese. No doubt Paul will be lurking in the background. I’ve really missed Melbourne.”

Jason Herbison, Neighbours’ Executive Producer, said:

“We are thrilled to announce the latest round of returnees and there will be more in the coming months. The next chapter of Neighbours will be a wonderful mix of the familiar and the new. It will be the Erinsborough we love and remember, with fresh twists and surprises.”
