Australian’s JORDAN MAILATA and ARRYN SIPOSS take centre stage as ESPN delivers week of SUPER BOWL action

It’s fitting that one of the biggest sporting events on the planet – Super Bowl LVII – will bring the curtain down on the biggest week of sport ever seen on ESPN.

Super Bowl LVII leads a jam-packed week of live sport across ESPN that includes LeBron James’ race to NBA history, the lead-up to UFC 284 and Alexander Volkanovski’s shot at UFC double gold, the NBL’s first ever Play-In Tournament, live NBA, NHL, and much more.

ESPN is the place to be for all the lead-up to Super Bowl LVII on Monday February 13.

The Philadelphia Eagles – featuring Aussies Jordan Mailata and Arryn Siposs – will collide with the Kansas City Chiefs for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. 

But before the Eagles and Chiefs face off, ESPN will bring fans every angle of Super Bowl week.

ESPN’s Super Bowl LVII programming will originate from Historic Old Town Scottsdale in Arizona.

ESPN viewers will experience the most in-depth coverage and behind-the-scenes access to the pinnacle event, with the game itself being called exclusively for Australian and New Zealand audiences by ESPN’s Steve Levy, Dan Orlovsky and Louis Riddick inside State Farm Stadium.

Australian sports star and media personality Nick Riewoldt will also join ESPN for Super Bowl LVII week.

A huge NFL fan, Riewoldt will join ESPN for a several special features around Scottsdale, Arizona – the site of Super Bowl LVII.

ESPN SportsCenter hosts Charly Arnolt, Aaron Atayde and Phil Murphy will bring ANZ sports fans all the Super Bowl news, insights and excitement with a nightly SC: NFL Blitz program from Thursday to Sunday.

ESPN stars Ryan Clark, Mina Kimes, Louis Riddick, Dan Orlovsky and other special guests will feature, along with interviews with players taking the field for Super Bowl LVII.

The set, dubbed “Historic Old Town ESPN Main Street Tailgate,” will be at the corner of Brown and Main Streets for Super Bowl week. Overall, more than 40 hours of dedicated ANZ programming will originate from Arizona leading into the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

Super Bowl Day coverage begins from 8.30am AEDT live on ESPN, Monday February 13.

ESPN also has a smorgasbord of live sport in the lead up to the big game.

LeBron races to NBA history

LeBron James has an incredible slice of NBA history in his sights, as he looks set to pass the all-time scoring record currently held by NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. 

 ESPN will broadcast three blockbuster Los Angles Lakers games LIVE this week, ensuring ESPN hoops fans can witness NBA history being made.

LeBron and the Lakers take on Josh Giddey and the Oklahoma City Thunder LIVE at 2pm AEDT on Wednesday February 8.

The Lakers will then hit their home court on Friday February 10 at 2pm AEDT, against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Finally on Sunday February 12, the Lakers meet fierce rivals Golden State Warriors, at 12.30pm AEDT – all three games LIVE on ESPN.

The Road to UFC 284 on ESPN –

Sunday February 12 sees Australia’s Alexander Volkanovski look to become a double UFC champion, as the Featherweight king steps up a division to face UFC Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.

The UFC 284: Makhachev vs Volkanovski PRELIMS are live on ESPN from 12pm AEDT, Sunday.  

The PRELIMS are stacked with Aussie talent, with Tyson Pedro, Josh Culibao, Shannon Ross and Jamie Mullarkey all featuring. 

UFC 284 is on home soil in Perth, and Volkanovski will be just the third man to hold two UFC championships concurrently if successful in the main event.

ESPN will bring all the news and lead-up to UFC 284, with new episodes of UFC Fight Camp and a chance for fans to relive some of the biggest moment in Volkanovski’s career.

NBL Playoff Spots On The Line –

History will be made with the first ever NBL Play-In Tournament, to determine the final makeup of the NBL Playoffs.

This new end of season format will have a new level of importance and intensity, adding three new post-season blockbusters LIVE on ESPN.

Four teams will playoff for the final two spots in the post-season, and it kicks off with a massive double header on Thursday February 9 – which is exclusive to ESPN.

Thursday’s Double Header kicks off LIVE at 6.30pm AEDT as South East Melbourne Phoenix clash with Perth Wildcats in a Sudden Death Eliminator.

Immediately following LIVE at 8.30pm AEDT, the Cairns Taipans tackle the Tasmania JackJumpers.

The winner of the Phoenix/United showdown will meet the loser of the Taipans/JackJumpers clash on Sunday February 12 LIVE at 2pm AEDT on ESPN – to secure the final spot in the NBL Playoffs.  

There’s also a feast of LIVE NBA and NHL action over the Super Bowl LVII week, across ESPN and ESPN2.

Super Bowl LVII is LIVE Monday February 13 on ESPN, with an exclusive broadcast for Australia and New Zealand.
