Netflix has acquired the Australian streaming rights to the locally produced horror/thriller film Run Rabbit Run.
The film was filmed on-location throughout Melbourne, regional Victoria and in South Australia’s Riverland region and will join Netflix’s growing slate of Australian-made stories, which includes Emmy award-winning documentary Puff: Wonders of the Reef, hit series Heartbreak High, and crime-drama film The Stranger.
The new film stars Sarah Snook, best known for her roles in Succession and The Beautiful Lie, as well as Damon Herriman, Greta Scacchi, and Lily LaTorre.
Run Rabbit Run is set to release in 2023 on Netflix, and audiences can expect a thrilling and terrifying ride as the film takes them on a journey through the Australian landscape.
It is directed by Daina Reid, known for her work on The Shining Girls, The Handmaid’s Tale, and The Outsider, and written by Hannah Kent, the author of The Good People, Devotion, and Burial Rites.
The film is produced by Sarah Shaw and Anna McLeish, the team behind Relic, Partisan, and Snowtown, and executive produced by Nate Bolotin, Maxime Cottray, Nick Spicer and Aram Tertzakian of XYZ Films, Deanne Weir, Olivia Humphrey, Jack Christian, D.J. McPherson, Daina Reid, Sarah Snook, Jake Carter, and Katie Anderson.
