Former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke and Today show host Karl Stefanovic were involved in a physical altercation while on holiday in Noosa.
Video footage filmed on January 10 and obtained by the Daily Telegraph shows the altercation, which appears to be prompted by infidelity accusations made by Jade Yarborough, who is Clarke’s girlfriend and Karl Stefanovic’s sister-in-law.
In the footage, Jade Yarborough can be heard accusing Clarke of infidelity, with the former cricket captain denying the accusations.
The altercation then escalates, with Stefanovic reportedly getting involved after jumping to Yarborough’s defence.
A shirtless Clarke can be heard directing his wrath at Stefanovic, using expletives and calling him a derogatory name.
The altercation took place after the two couples, along with a friend, had dined at a beachside restaurant in Noosa.
TV Blackbox has approached Channel 9 for comment. The network had not responded at the time of publication.
Michael Clarke issued a statement to The Daily Telegraph, expressing remorse for his actions.
“I accept full responsibility for this altercation,”
Clarke said in a statement on Wednesday night.
“I am shattered by this incident and I am deeply sorry to all the people who have been impacted, particularly Karl and Jasmine Stefanovic, and my girlfriend Jade. I am also sorry to my family, friends and fans.”
Rumours of infidelity and relationship troubles had been circulating around Clarke and Yarborough, with the couple having gone their separate ways over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
It wasnt a fight, it was an assault.
Jade is a dv abuser and should be charged.
Heres to guessing the incident hasnt been “reported”
Such hypocritical double standards in this country, what a joke.
