Wellmania, an eight-part series featuring popular comedian Celeste Barber in the lead role is set to launch soon on Netflix.

The show follows the story of food writer and human tornado Liv, played by Celeste Barber, as she experiences a major health crisis and is forced to rethink her ‘live fast die young’ attitude.

After scoring a once-in-a-lifetime job that would have propelled her into the American mainstream, a series of unfortunate events in Australia sees Liv banned from re-entering the States unless she fixes her health.

Determined to reclaim her old life, Liv throws herself body-first into a wellness journey, trying everything from the benign to the bizarre in an attempt to get well quick.

As Liv navigates her wellness journey, viewers will be able to relate to her struggles and triumphs and may even be inspired to take control of their own health.

Celeste Barber and Warren Clarke (The Heights) serve as the executive producers for Wellmania, with Bree-Anne Sykes (Here Out West) as the producer. The show also features a talented team of co-executive producers, including Benjamin Law (The Family Law) and Belinda King (Cleopatra in Space).

The script for the series is written by Romina Accurso (Class of ’07), Rachel Laverty (Home and Away), Nick Coyle (Sarah’s Channel), and Amy Stewart (Hardball).

The series is inspired by the book Wellmania: Misadventures in the Search for Wellness by author and journalist Brigid Delaney and is co-created by Benjamin Law. With a talented cast, including JJ Fong, Genevieve Mooy, Lachlan Buchanan, Remy Hii, Alexander Hodge, Simone Kessell, Virginie Laverdure, and Johnny Carr, Wellmania is sure to be a hit with audiences.

Don’t miss the premiere of Wellmania on March 29th, 2023 on Netflix.
