School is officially back in session as Netflix has announced today Heartbreak High will return for Season 2.
Produced by Fremantle Australia and NewBe, Season 2 of Heartbreak High will see the talented cast and creators reassemble in Sydney (Gadigal, Dharug, Dharawal and Ku-ring-ai lands), Australia for pre-production and filming.
Heartbreak High is a re-imagination of an iconic piece of Australian television. Since the series premiered on 14 September 2022, it has:
- Remained in the Australian top 10 TV shows on Netflix for five weeks since release;
- Spent three weeks in the global top 10 TV shows on Netflix (hitting #6, #5, #8 and amassing over 42.6M hours viewed in the three weeks );
- Reached the top 10 TV shows in over 43 countries on Netflix including in US, Europe, Africa and Asia; and
- Popped off on TikTok where #heartbreakhigh has amassed over 300m views.
Season one of Heartbreak High is still available on Netflix, where a discovery makes Amerie an instant pariah at Hartley High, and causes a mysterious and very public rift with her ride-or-die Harper. With her new friends – outsiders Quinni and Darren – Amerie must repair her reputation, while navigating love, sex, and heartbreak.
