CHANNEL 7 confirmed as the new home of the LOGIES in multi-year deal

The Logies are set to shine on Channel 7 from 2023 for the first time in 28 years.

After weeks of speculation, the Seven Network has today confirmed it has signed a new multi-year agreement with Are Media to become the Official Broadcast Partner of the TV WEEK Logie Awards.

Seven last broadcast the Logies in 1995, live from Melbourne.

The 63rd TV WEEK Logie Awards will be broadcast on Sunday, 18 June next year, with Seven and Are Media set to deliver a spectacular show.

The location for the awards will be announced later this year. It is understood the tourism boards of Queensland and NSW are both currently competing to secure hosting rights.

Seven West Media Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, James Warburton, said:

“The TV WEEK Logie Awards are more than television’s night of nights; they are a treasured Australian institution and a celebration of Australia’s love of television.

“We are honoured to be partnering with Are Media to bring the Logies to Australia on Channel 7 and 7plus. It’s early days but we have big, exciting plans for the awards in 2023 and beyond.”

Channel 9 has hosted the Australian television “night-of-nights” continuously since 1995. Commenting on the loss of the broadcast rights a spokesperson for the network told TV Blackbox:

“Logies are an important and valuable platform to celebrate the great work of our television industry, a night for our audience to connect with all parts of the industry and celebrate.

It has in its 62 year history been screened on all Networks – we look forward to the TV Week Logies in 2023 and joining in the celebrations.”

Are Media Chief Executive Officer, Jane Huxley, added:

“The TV WEEK Logie Awards has become the most anticipated event of the year for the television industry as we celebrate the most popular stars and shows on our screens.

We are delighted to continue our long-standing association with the awards and equally pleased to welcome the Seven Network as the Logies’ Official Broadcast Partner.”

The 63rd TV WEEK Logie Awards – airs Sunday 18 June 2023, only on Channel 7 and 7plus.
