Nine manage to slide ahead in the midst of messy schedules.
A Current Affair (608,000) again Nine’s best by a long shot and Thursdays continue to be a mess with smaller audiences than expected for their big sporting code. It looked like this: Thursday Night NRL Live (362,000 (332,000 Nine BNE/SYD; 30,000 9Gem MEL/ADL/PER)); Thursday Night Knock-Off (112,000 Nine BNE/SYD); repeats of RBT (232,000 (180,000 Nine MEL/ADL/PER; 52,000 9Gem BNE/SYD)); Paramedics (115,000 (173,000 Nine MEL/ADL/PER; 42,000 9Gem BNE/SYD)); and new New Amsterdam (68,000 Nine MEL/ADL/PER); all before coming back together for a new episode of The Equalizer (53,000).
Nine first in both primary (21.6%) and network (31.1%) rankings.
Seven’s night all messed up, so Home & Away (336,000 (265,000 Seven BNE/SYD/ADL/PER; 71,000 7TWO MEL)) and Home & Away – Late (316,000 (236,000 Seven BNE/SYD/ADL/PER; 80,000 7TWO MEL)) are split due to Seven’s commitment to the Women’s AFL: Thursday Night Football (118,000 (88,000 Seven MEL; 30,000 7mate BNE/SYD/ADL/PER). Repeats Crime Investigation Australia (166,000) and Police Strike Force (97,000) draw a loyal if small audience, and The Front Bar (286,000 (192,000 MEL)) slips around in the schedule to do very soft business in Melbourne.
Seven second in both primary (18.4%) and network (25.7%) rankings.
Look, The Project (204,000 6:30pm; 331,000 7pm) happened, OK? 10 will be much happier with the move of Shaun Micallef’s Brain Eisteddfod (307,000) to Thursdays, especially it acting as lead-in to Gogglebox Australia (450,000) which made a triumphant if soft return to FTA TV. Law & Order: SVU (176,000) and a repeat of The Cheap Seats (84,000) flesh out the rest of the evening.
10 third in both primary (12.8%) and network (19.2%) rankings.
7:30 (422,000) consistent for the ABC, as is Foreign Correspondent (281,000)
though a with a smaller audience. Speaking of consistent, Q+A (182,000) cannot lift out of its pitiful numbers. Courtney Act’s One Plus One (109,000) good however the audience spoiled by the lead-in, as the night finishes out with a repeat of Australia’s Favourite Tree (43,000).
ABC fourth in both primary (10.4%) and network (15%) rankings.
A slow night for SBS, with World’s Most Scenic River Journeys (166,000), a repeat of Scotland’s Sacred Islands with Ben Fogle (124,000), and new Suspect (65,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.7%) and network (9%) rankings.
