The Seven Network has signed a new 3-year agreement that will see it continue to be the broadcast home for the traditional Carols in the Domain concert.

The popular event celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year on Saturday 17 December 2022 in its original home, The Domain in Sydney.

The new agreement between ActiveTV and the Seven Network reflects Seven’s long-term commitment to Carols in the Domain, which delivers sizable capital city, regional and BVOD audiences.

Carols in the Domain attracts more than 50,000 people on the ground and a national total TV audience of 1.05 million viewers on Channel 7 and 7plus in 2021.

Angus Ross, Seven’s Chief Content Officer, Entertainment Programming, said:

Woolworths Carols in the Domain is all about bringing Australians together at Christmas for a family night of feel-good festive fun.

We are delighted to extend our long and successful relationship with the iconic Australian event and can’t wait to bring the festive magic to viewers with the spectacular 40th anniversary edition on Channel 7 and 7plus later this year.”

Michael McKay, Emmy award-winning creator, President of ActiveTV and the event’s Executive Producer of 34 years, said:

“Billed as ‘Australia’s Biggest Christmas Party’, this year’s ‘Carols’ promises a celebratory mood in keeping with its big birthday celebrations.

It’s going to be the biggest ‘Carols’ in years, full of great singalong moments, spectacular fireworks and plenty of surprises to help the nation get into the Christmas spirit.”

“For the first time in the event’s history, Woolworths Carols in the Domain will be broadcast to an international pay-per-view audience, especially for all the Aussies living around the world.”

The traditional ‘Seats For Salvos’ fundraiser will be held on Friday 16 December, with proceeds from seat sales and other activities going to support The Salvation Army.

Woolworths Carols in the Domain is a free event (no ticket needed).  Reserved seating areas will be available for the public to purchase from 1 September through www.ticketbooth.com.au
