The delicious second season of Aftertaste is guaranteed to whet your appetite when it premieres tonight on ABC TV.

Following a much-loved first season, Erik Thomson returns as celebrity chef Easton West, and rising star Natalie Abbott as his niece and pastry chef extraordinaire Diana.

In the season two premiere, It’s the morning of Brett and Denise’s wedding and Diana arrives with a new beau, Harry.

Diana warns him about her ‘mad’ family – but to Diana’s frustration, things aren’t quite as crazy as she has made them out to be. Brett and Denise are loved up and so happy to see Diana and meet Harry. Even Easton is calm – content with his elaborate home brewing set up, and happy to be out of the limelight.

As the day continues, we catch up with the gang – including Margot, who is not Easton’s date, a lovesick Kwame, who is catering and sneaking glances at Diana and Nayani, who hasn’t forgiven Diana for ditching her.

A frustrated Diana gets increasingly tipsy and when the ceremony kicks off with Easton doing a salute to Jim with the old man’s shotgun, she tries to do it herself. Needless to say, old tensions rear their ugly heads and soon Easton and Diana are bickering, wrestling, and absolute chaos ensues.

Easton and Diana find themselves slapped with some pretty steep consequences that will force these two adversaries to learn to work together.

Season 2 features an exceptional ensemble cast including Rachel Griffiths (Total Control, Finding The Archibald), Wayne Blair (The Sapphires, Irreverent), Susan Prior (Glitch, Frayed), Remy Hii (Harrow, Spider-Man: Far From Home), Kavitha Anandasivam (The Tourist, The Hunting) and Justin Amankwah (Fat Pizza vs Housos), while Lynette Curran (Cleverman, A Few Less Men), Julian Maroun (The Secrets She Keeps) and Syd Brisbane (Stateless) join the cast this season.

Aftertaste is written by Julie De Fina, Matthew Bate and Matt Vesely, produced by Closer Productions (The Hunting, F*! #cking Adelaide, Animals) and directed by Renée Webster (How To Please A Woman).
