Nick Kyrgios will play in his first Grand Slam singles final on Sunday night after Rafael Nadal‘s shock injury withdrawal. Nadal was set to play the Australian showman in the semi finals but the Spanish warrior succumbed to a painful abdominal issue that prevented him from being able to serve.

Kyrgios will take on the winner of the Novak Djokovic v Cameron Norrie semi on Friday night, with world No.1 Djokovic the heavy favourite.

“One thing Nick doesn’t fear is reputation,”

Wally Masur told Stan Sport’s Grand Slam Daily,

“The good players, they get a little bit upset with his antics, but what they’re really upset about is that they can’t control his game. He’s got that much power, mixed with finesse, that’s what they don’t really like.”

Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur will play Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina in the ladies’ singles final on Saturday night. Jabeur is the first African woman to play in a Grand Slam final in the professional era.

“I want to go bigger, inspire many more generations,” Jabeur said.
