Well, what an interesting mess we find ourselves in.
A Current Affair (683,000) holds court for Nine as the biggest thing after 7pm. It doesn’t help Celebrity Apprentice Australia (386,000) drops again, and still struggles to get much above 400k – subsequently finding itself third overall in primetime. Million Dollar Murders (219,000) slips on last week (and dwarfed by 10’s offering in the slot), and then the night splits as usual on a Monday based on your state’s favoured code: 100% Footy (30,000 BNE/SYD) or Footy Classified (68,000 MEL/ADL/PER).
Nine first in both primary (18%) and network (27%) rankings.
Home & Away (496,000) plods along and takes second as usual at 7pm for Seven, managing a small lift on the same time last week. Big Brother Australia (378,000)
bumps up too, and is seeing a lift particularly from regional figures and in 7 day catch-up.
The season finale double of 9-1-1 (207,000; 141,000) fleshes out the night without adding too much interest.
Seven second in both primary (17.5%) and network (25.4%) rankings.
The Project (250,000 6:30pm; 389,000 7pm) drops on last week, drawing its normal audience for 10, and leaving MasterChef Australia (557,000) to hold its own and lead the commercial offerings. Out of the gate Have You Been Paying Attention? (682,000) draws a sizeable later night audience and lifts on last week, however even with these two successes the failure from 6pm-7:30pm really bites for the network to land in third. New and repeat episodes of FBI: Most Wanted (206,000; 93,000) brings the night to a neat close.
10 third in both primary (16%) and network (21.9%) rankings.
The ABC’s Monday delivers a massive return again. 7:30 (580,000) and Australian Story (544,000) coupled together lead primetime, even if down a little on last week. Four Corners (366,000) and Media Watch (336,000) slip a little, though deliver a distant yet definitive second place behind 10. India Now (180,000) also down marginally on last week, and a repeat of Q+A (34,000) fleshes out a massive night.
ABC fourth in both primary (12.6%) and network (17.4%) rankings.
Saving Lives At Sea (105,000) starts SBS’s Monday, followed by 24 Hours In Emergency (124,000) and a repeat of Deepwater Horizon: Ten Mistakes (68,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.2%) and network (8.3%) rankings.
