Foxtel to serve up a second helping of hit comedy series JULIA

The critically acclaimed hit comedy series JULIA, inspired by the extraordinary life of legendary chef Julia Child, has been renewed for a second season.

The series, which premiered on FOXTEL on April 3, concludes its first season tonight from 5.00pm On Demand on FOXTEL.

JULIA is inspired by Julia Child’s remarkable life and her long-running television series “The French Chef” which pioneered the modern cooking show. Through Julia’s life and her singular joie de vivre, the series explores a pivotal time in American history – the emergence of public television as a new social institution, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity and America’s cultural evolution. At its heart, the series is a portrait of a loving marriage with a shifting power dynamic.

Season one features a stunning cast lead by Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) in the title role and joined by David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) as Childs’ husband, Franz Kranz (Homecoming), Bebe Neuwirth (Frasier), Fiona Glascott (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald)and Brittany Bradford (Broadway’s Bernhardt/Hamlet) and with guest stars including Judith Light (Transparent) and Isabella Rossellini (Blue Velvet).

JULIA is produced by Lionsgate and 3 Arts Entertainment for HBO Max and is exclusive in Australia to the FOXTEL Group.

JULIA is available to watch On Demand on FOXTEL and on Fox Showcase

The final episode of season one premieres On Demand today from 5.00pm and on Fox Showcase on Sunday, May 8 at 8.30pm AEST
