The commercial networks are evenly matched in their offerings as much as how much those offerings are losing audience.
Home & Away (471,000) almost a low point between Seven’s News product and The Voice Australia (629,000), which again wins the primetime slot though slips even further – down 14% on last night, and down a solid 25% on night one. Britain’s Got Talent (317,000) gets backed in as cheap filler content into the later night and rates as such.
Seven first in both primary (22.8%) and network (30.7%) rankings.
Nine score their usual timeslot win with A Current Affair (592,000) as their primetime offering Lego Masters Australia (562,000) slips lower, following the trend of all other primetime reality programs though managing to retain the most audience, down only 2% on last night and 16% on night one. The Thing About Pam (277,000) slips into second place in the later night, a repeat of Botched (124,000) goes to everyone, and then Footy Classified (71,000 MEL/ADL/PER) gets a limited late night airing.
Nine second in both primary (19.1%) and network (28.4%) rankings.
7:30 (439,000), Hard Quiz (497,000), and Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell (401,000) roll together to deliver a competitive third place in primetime for the ABC, at the cost of 10’s offering. The later night fleshed out with lesser linear-delivering Tomorrow Tonight (268,000) and MICF Allstars Supershow (150,000).
ABC fourth in both primary (11.9%) and network (16.4%) rankings.
The Project (238,000 6:30pm; 366,000 7pm) a pale comparison of what it used to be and we should all be surprised if it ever gets above 400k at 7pm for 10. MasterChef Australia (376,000) slides into fourth in primetime – not for lack of quality, only for lack of audience. Mind you, that audience is down 14% on last night, and a whopping 31% on night one(!). First Dates Australia (248,000) does half-reasonably, and new episodes of US dramas Bull (119,000) and This Is Us (49,000) achieve favour with rusted-on fans.
10 third in both primary (10.6%) and network (16.3%) rankings.
SBS’s Wednesday delivered thus: Tony Robinson’s Coast To Coast (154,000), Rise of the Nazis (131,000), and the season finale of The Responder (66,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.8%) and network (8.2%) rankings.
