In the first head-to-head battle of the footy codes, it was another tussle that saw Seven land a win…and the footy on both channels affected everything.

Seven will be pleased with the first of what will be many Thursday wins across the year, though Home & Away (246,000) struggled due to it airing on the primary channel in only a couple of capital cities. Like Nine, their evening splits based on the footy:
Seven’s AFL: Thursday Night Football (375,000) and AFL Post Game (138,000)
or
MOVIE: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (121,000).
Seven first in both primary (22.4%) and network (32.4%) rankings.

A Current Affair (433,000) delivers OK numbers for Nine, then their evening splits based on the footy:
Thursday Night NRL Live (302,000) and Thursday Night Knock-Off (185,000)
or
a repeat of RBT (147,000), Australia Behind Bars (110,000), and A+E After Dark (58,000).
Nine second in both primary (18%) and network (25.6%) rankings.

It’s a tale of two parts for 10. The Project (204,000 6:30pm; 282,000 7pm) absolutely bottoms out (will it start digging?). Both First Dates Australia (375,000) and Gogglebox Australia (483,000) though they were the highest rating shows in primetime. A repeat of Would I Lie To You? Australia (162,000) draws little interest as new Blue Bloods (65,000) fills the late night slot.
10 third in both primary (12.7%) and network (18.5%) rankings.

7:30 (431,000) and Foreign Correspondent (264,000) both slip on last week, however it’s Q+A (168,000) that sees the most damage done as it ends up with its lowest figures ever. Rosie Batty’s One Plus One (96,000) and a repeat of Scottish Vets Down Under (69,000) complete Aunty’s softest night of the week.
ABC fourth in both primary (9%) and network (15%) rankings.

Thursdays on SBS feel very british: Then and Now: The River Thames (142,000), The Royals: Keeping the Crown (147,000), and Britain’s Most Expensive Houses (67,000)
SBS fifth in both primary (4.7%) and network (8.5%) rankings.
