Foxtel today announced more celebrated Australian and international actors will join the line-up of diverse talent to star in the upcoming original crime drama series The Twelve.
Joining the impressive ensemble cast as the family linked to the court case are:
- Jenni Baird (A Place to Call Home, The Secrets She Keeps),
- Matt Nable (Mr Inbetween, The Dry),
- Silvia Colloca (Van Hesling, Nerve),
- Coco Jack Gillies (Mad Max: Fury Road, Doctor Doctor),
- Ben Mingay (Frayed, Amazing Grace),
- Hamish Michael (Janet King, Rosehaven),
- Louisa Mignone (Wentworth, Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries).
THE TWELVE is gripping courtroom drama that tells the story of 12 ordinary Australians who are selected for jury duty in a murder trial as traumatising as it is controversial, in which a woman stands accused of killing a child.
This new 10 episode crime drama is based on the Belgian series of the same name.
Behind the façade of their anonymity, these twelve ordinary people bring with them their own histories.
Lives that are as complex as the trial, full of fractured dreams, shameful secrets, hope, fears, personal trauma and prejudice. Through the multiple lenses of these jurors, we see the fragility and imbalances of the law, and the chaotic and flawed way we attempt to determine justice in our society.
Previously announced cast members include: Sam Neill, Kate Mulvany, Marta Dusseldorp, Hazem Shammas, Brooke Satchwell, Brendan Cowell, Pallavi Sharda, Ngali Shaw, Catherine Van-Davies, Bishanyia Vincent, Damien Strouthos, Nic Cassim, Daniel Mitchell, Gennie Nevinson, Toby Blome, Warren Lee, and Susan Kennedy.
The writing team for The Twelve features a stellar line-up including Wentworth’s Leah Purcell.
