After previously being available On Demand, the Czech espionage thriller The Sleepers will get its free-to-air premiere tonight on SBS.
It’s 1989, the Soviet Empire is crumbling and after 12 years of exile in London, violinist Marie and her husband Viktor return to Prague and find themselves caught in a deadly battle between rival espionage agencies.
In the premiere episode, Marie and Viktor return to Prague after 12 years in exile. Suddenly Viktor disappears in dramatic circumstances and Marie must find him in a Czechoslovakia that is far from being free – and with the spy agencies of several countries watching her.
