Season four of the acclaimed FX comedy series Better Things will premiere on Foxtel this weekend.

Better Things is the story of Sam Fox (Pamela Adlon), a single mother and working actor with no filter, raising her three daughters, Max (Mikey Madison), Frankie (Hannah Alligood)and Duke (Olivia Edward) in Los Angeles. She also looks after her mother, Phil (Celia Imrie), an English ex-pat with questionable faculties who lives across the street.

Max (played by Mikey Madison) is Sam’s magnetic oldest daughter who fluctuates between bratty teen and self-sufficient young woman. Mikey Madison is quickly establishing herself as a highly sought-after young actress in film and television. She recently co-starred in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Frankie (Hannah Alligood) is Sam’s brilliant, rebellious middle daughter who is constantly challenging the status quo and pushing Sam’s buttons. At just 16 years old, Hannah Alligood has already captivated audiences with her extraordinary talent and onscreen presence. She has been playing roles in feature film and TV series consistently from the age of 10.

Duke (Olivia Edward) is Sam’s adorable and forgivably mischievous youngest daughter. Olivia Edward, a 12-year-old seventh-grader and native of Long Island, NY, began her professional career at the age of two after signing with a management team, and has been steadily working ever since.

Phil (Celia Imrie), is Sam’s aging, eccentric English expatriate mother who lives across the street. Celia is an Olivier Award-winning and Guild-nominated actress, who was recently honoured by Variety as an “Icon” and received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women in Film and Television Awards. In addition to her acclaimed film, television and theatre work, Imrie is also a Sunday Times UK bestselling author.

Whether she’s earning a living, navigating her daughters’ changing lives, or trying to have one of her own, Sam approaches every challenge with fierce love, raw honesty and humour.

Stream Episodes one and two On Demand from March 6 or watch weekly episodes from Monday, March 9 at 9.00pm on FOX ONE.
