There has been plenty of speculation about what SONIA KRUGER will be doing when she returns to Channel 7 in 2020 and it looks like it isn’t what we were expecting!

It’s been a wild ride ever since news broke that Sonia Kruger would be returning to her old stomping ground at Channel 7 next year. In fact, the contract had not even been signed when news leaked.

This site previously reported she would be the host of Big Brother but it would seem that information was off the mark or things have changed. TV Blackbox understands executives are looking at social media feedback and taking that feedback into account as they continue to formulate plans for the refreshed Big Brother format in 2020. It’s clear those plans no longer include Kruger, if they ever did.

Multiple sources now reveal Kruger will be taking up a new role on Australia’s Got Talent. At this stage it is not known whether she will be replacing 2019 host Ricki-Lee Coulter or sitting on the judging panel (there are suggestions she will replace 2019 judge Manu Feildel). Either way there’s no doubt Sonia will make a great addition to the show which will see Aussie champions take on some of the most popular AGT acts from around the world.

Kruger finished up on TODAY EXTRA last week with a glittering farewell not afforded to Georgie Gardner or Tony Jones on sister show TODAY.

Reports suggest Kruger is on a $1.5 million deal over 3 years (or $500k per year) but Seven has not yet made any formal announcements about what role she will take on at the network.

For its part, Channel 9 is now looking for a replacement presenter to host Carols By Candlelight with Kruger’s former co-host David Campbell. The most likely scenario is new TODAY host Allison Langdon will step into the role.

Our sources have also attached Kruger to Seven’s Mega Mini Golf although it now seems her immediate focus will be Australia’s Got Talent.

  1. Please not Allison Langdon for Carols. She may be a good jouno but I don’t think she’s the right fit for CBC
Livinia Nixon would be way better suited imo

  2. Oh god. Who are your sources? The guy that gets the coffee for the interns?

Rumour. Seven is rebooting The Midday Show. Sonia would be the perfect choice.

I don’t think they’d win her over with a reality show that’s been axed twice by two different networks before returning to the original network. Also that mini golf show will flop. Mini golf doesn’t have the same appeal it does in the is also she’d have to be in the US to film it. She has a daughter in school. Jetting half way across the globe doesn’t seem practical.
