Popular presenter SONIA KRUGER is returning to her old stomping ground at Channel 7.
The host of Today Extra and The Voice has accepted an offer from her old employer to return to the Seven Network in 2020. The Daily Mail broke the news this morning despite some media reports suggesting Kruger had accepted a new 3 year deal from Channel 9.
TV Blackbox has confirmed The Daily Mail’s report but its unclear at this time whether Kruger will continue her on-air commitments or be put on ‘gardening leave’ immediately.
Kruger met her partner, 7 News boss Craig McPherson, while she was working for him as a reporter on Today Tonight. In 2013 McPherson joined Kruger at Channel 9 for 2 years before returning to Seven to become Head of News and Current Affairs.
Kruger’s role at Channel 7 is yet to be revealed but guesses include hosting Big Brother. While we can’t rule that out you can bet that is not the only offer on the table.
