Paul Murray LIVE Our Town was live on Sky News on WIN last night from the snowy alpine region of Thredbo, the sixth location of the ten regional broadcasts taking place across the nation.

Bringing a night of entertainment, the special episode included live performances by ARIA Award Winning Sony Music artist Guy Sebastian and the announcement of $40,000 raised to support the Snowy Monaro local community.

Working with the NSW and ACT Country Women’s Association (CWA) to identify key areas of need in the area, principal partner Harvey Norman last night announced that the funds raised will be donated to support locals in the Snowy Monaro region, particularly famers and local businesses impacted by chronic drought conditions.

Harvey Norman CEO, Katie Page said: “We are so proud to be a part of the Paul Murray Live Our Town project and what has been achieved at Harvey Norman Fyshwick in conjunction with the Our Town Thredbo broadcast. We are so grateful to the Harvey Norman Fyshwick team, our local Canberra customers and the wonderful women of the CWA in NSW and ACT. $40,000 is an extraordinary result.

“The entire amount raised – every dollar – will go to the CWA in NSW and ACT, with a focus in the Snowy Monaro district. Areas within the Monaro region in particular continue to be severely impacted by drought conditions. We cannot fathom the challenges faced by farmers and small local businesses when their sources of income are impaired or non-existent for years on end. The pressure that it puts on individuals and their families is unrelenting. The CWA in NSW and ACT know where the money can make a difference. They know who is doing it tough because they are part of the fabric of their local communities.”

Paul Murray, Sky News Anchor said: “From the beaches to the snowfields, Aussies want to help people who are doing it tough. I’m so proud of how every community has responded to the show and can’t wait for our next stop on this very special tour.”
