EXCLUSIVE | Respected sports presenter, Michael Felgate, will be making the switch from Seven’s Melbourne newsroom in a career change that will see him take a key role in 10’s Melbourne Cup coverage.

TV Blackbox understands Felgate join the 10 line-up for Cup Week to present all the action from the Trainers and Jockeys.

The 10 network has invested $100 million to secure broadcast rights for the Melbourne Cup Carnival over the next five years and is now locking in its presenter line-up which will lead by Matt White and Francesca Cumani

Felgate has been part of the Seven line-up since 2005, but most recently has only been working three days per week. As part of the change, Felgate will also take on an expanded role at racing station RSN.

It’s understood Felgate had grown frustrated at Seven after being consistently overlooked for a presenter role

Ironically, Michael has often been competing against his wife, Jacqueline Felgate who is now the weekend sports presenter for Seven and a regular contributor to the networks AFL coverage and Talking Footy.
