The new channel is designed to help subscribers find hidden gems and stand-out favourites available on Foxtel Movies. The channel events have been specially curated for the summer holidays.

The pop-up Foxtel Movies channel will be spotlighted by Hollywood superstar, Chris Hemsworth, who appears in a TV promotion showcasing the great movies set to appear during the special events, asking, “How many movies did you watch this year? How many did you love and how many do you want to see again?” before stepping back to a collage of blockbuster hits set to appear on the special pop-up channel.

From 19 – 31 December, the first pop-up theme, dubbed ‘Foxtel Movies Best of 2015’ will feature some of the most memorable and award-winning movies including American Sniper, Fifty Shades of Grey, Gone Girl, The Lego Movie, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Maze Runner, Nightcrawler and more. ‘Foxtel Movies Best of 2015’ will be available on Channel 400 for Foxtel Movies pack and Foxtel Platinum customers.

Immediately following, from 1 – 10 January, ‘Foxtel Movies Best of 2015’ will be replaced by ‘Foxtel Movies Heroes’, featuring action-packed, hero-filled favourites such as, Transformers: Age Of Extinction, Thor: The Dark World, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Expendables 3, Green Lantern, Hercules, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men: Days of Future Past and others. ‘Foxtel Movies Heroes’ will also appear on Channel 400.

Ed Smith, Foxtel’s Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, said, “Summertime and blockbusters go hand and hand so we’ve pulled together two great movie collections to help movie lovers, hungry for the best in action, comedy, intrigue and drama, discover more with the Movies pack and who better than Australian acting legend, Chris Hemsworth to front our promotion of epic summertime films. We’re certain these new pop-up collections will help Foxtel Movies and Platinum customers make the most of their subscription this holiday season.”

Subscribers can enjoy Foxtel Movies when and where they want both live or in Anytime (on demand) with an internet connected iQ box. For customers without an internet connected iQ box, Foxtel’s curated “pop-up” channel movies can be recorded to a Foxtel iQ set top box and played back at their convenience.
