US based SVOD service Netflix has released a brilliant new trailer (see below) for the highly anticipated third season of House of Cards.

The political drama starring Kevin Spacey is due to premiere in the US on February 27th, however its unclear how long Australians will have to wait for a legal option to view the series.

Seasons One and Two of House of Cards were previously made available to Australian audiences on Foxtel’s Showcase channel, however with Netflix preparing to launch its Australian operation, Foxtel no-longer holds the rights for the award winning series.

Netflix is yet to officially reveal a launch date for its Australian business however it would seem unlikely they will be operational by Feb 27th. Last week the Tech Guide website published an article claiming to have inside knowledge of a March 30th launch date.

If correct, that will leave Australian fans waiting for their legal chance to binge on new House of Cards.

Of course all this will discussion will seem rather irrelevant for the estimated 300,000 Australian’s currently accessing the US edition of Netflix via VPN services. Recent media reports have wrongly suggested Netflix was cracking down of VPN access. In truth the company still accepts access from the vast majority of VPN’s. It also still happily accepts Australian Credit Cards. It is the opinion of this website that Netflix honestly doesn’t care which version of the SVOD service Australian subscribe to, just so long as they pick one.
