Australian Model and Presenter Ruby Rose has scored a dream TV gig announcing today that she has scored a role in Season 3 of the Netflix Original drama Orange Is The New Black.
Confirming the news today a Netflix spokesperson told this website that “Rose will portray Stella Carlin, an inmate at Litchfield Federal Correctional Institution whose sarcastic sense of humour and captivating looks quickly draw the attention of some of Litchfield’s inmates.”
It is understood Rose’s character will become involved in a love triangle with Piper and Alex. At this stage it’s unclear how many episodes of Season 3 Rose will appear in.
Rose, a former presenter for MTV Australia and Ten’s The Project has been based in the US for the last two years seeking an acting career. Recently she was named in US Elle Magazine Faces to Watch in 2015 list.
The first two seasons of Orange Is The New Black have already aired of Foxtel’s Showcase channel. The third season is due to premiere this June in the USA.
With Netflix planning an Australian launch in March many had expected Foxtel to loose the rights for the series, however a Foxtel spokesperson today confirmed to this website the pay-tv broadcaster has retained the rights for the prison drama. An Australian airdate for season 3 is yet to be confirmed.
