Today’s news sets in motion the six-year, $241 million media deal announced by V8 Supercars late last year and sees Foxtel beginning its coverage of the extremely popular racing series via its popular internet TV services.
Foxtel CEO, Richard Freudenstein, said, “The chequered flag is up and the wait is over, Australia’s pre-eminent motoring series, the V8 Supercars, is now available to Foxtel subscribers. Every race weekend, thousands of Australians look forward to the chance to witness the might of the V8 Supercars races and now fans will be able to enjoy the action on the move with Foxtel Go, or via the convenience of Foxtel Play.”
From 2015, FOX SPORTS will offer full V8 Supercars coverage across the entire Foxtel Platform with V8 Supercars Championship races LIVE and in HD. Coverage will include all support races, all qualifying sessions and all championship races with commentary and analysis programming.
