From April 27, ABC RN Breakfast host Fran Kelly will be presenting Insiders, while Barrie Cassidy takes long-service leave to write his latest book.
Fran is a regular panellist on the weekly political program and is looking forward to the opportunity.
“Insiders is a key agenda setting program that kicks off the news week. In some ways it feels like my second journalistic home. While I will miss RN Breakfast I am really looking forward to spending more time there with the pollies, the couch dwellers and the Insiders team. And of course a few months of sleep ins!” Fran Kelly said.
ABC Head of Current Affairs Bruce Belsham said, “I’m delighted that Fran will be presenting Insiders while Barrie is away. I know she will do a terrific job and I wish her all the best for her move to Melbourne during this period.”
Fran will be in the hosting chair from Sunday, April 27 to August 3.
Insiders is simulcast at 9am on Sundays on ABC1 and ABC News 24 and repeated at 8.00pm AEDT on ABC News 24 on the same day. The Insiders broadcast can also be heard at 11am AEDT on ABC NewsRadio.
