Viewers will also hear from individuals affected by Ozempic, including former The Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester, who discusses the drug’s impact on her life and the issue of fat shaming. Australian PR expert Roxy Jacenko shares a harrowing account of an Ozempic overdose, highlighting the dangers associated with its misuse.

Hosted by Michael Usher and Sarah Greenhalgh, this episode aims to separate fact from fiction, providing a platform for understanding without judgement, addressing the needs of those using Ozempic for diabetes and weight management.

“I thought my weight was my fault my entire life,” Ajay Rochester reflects. “It wasn’t until I had medicine that fixed the food noise in my head that I realised it was a very real condition that I was living with.”

“They [doctors] had never seen this before,” shares Roxy Jacenko about her experience. “My whole body was shaking. I couldn’t control my legs… it’s like I had no control of my body.”

Michael Usher comments on the episode’s relevance, noting, “People need Ozempic for diabetes and weight loss. They just want facts, information, and help. Not judgement,” emphasizing the potential for a significant shift in obesity treatment in Australia.

7NEWS Spotlight on Ozempic premieres 14 April, 2024, at 8.45pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
