In a significant expansion of digital streaming services, Paramount+ has now been launched on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles in Australia

This deployment marks a strategic collaboration between Paramount and Microsoft, extending the reach of Paramount+ to a broader audience via one of the world’s most popular gaming platforms.

Subscribers in a diverse array of regions, including Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latin America (with a specific nod to Brazil), Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, now have the opportunity to access a plethora of content through their Xbox devices. This content array encompasses a spectrum from new original programming to established fan favourites.

Highlighting the breadth of the Paramount+ offering, the platform’s content suite features blockbuster films, exclusive series, and a rich catalogue of children’s programming. Notable original productions such as Fellow Travelers, The Curse, Halo, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stand alongside classic series from CBS like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and NCIS. The platform also hosts animated favourites including Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and Comedy Central’s South Park, as well as MTV’s youth-centric series and legendary music programs.

“Our goal is to make Paramount+’s popular content, characters and franchises available to an expanded audience. This partnership with Microsoft is another testament of our commitment to scale innovative global partnerships to maximise reach,”

Angela Heckman, Senior Vice President of International Streaming Distribution and Business Development at Paramount, stated,

The collaboration represents a calculated move by Paramount to capitalize on the expansive Xbox user base, potentially tapping into a segment of consumers who may prefer the convenience of accessing streaming content through their gaming consoles.

It underscores the growing trend of cross-platform availability in the streaming industry, aiming to provide seamless content experiences across various consumer touchpoints.

Note: Due to an ongoing dispute regarding editorial independence, the 10 Network and its parent company ViacomCBS declined to provide assistance with the preparation of this content.
