This time, the parents know the kids are watching…

In a world wide phenomenon Kate Langbroek returns to guide a new group of single parents on a second chance journey to love when My Mum, Your Dad returns on Tuesday, October 31, at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

As the parents take up residence in a brand-new luxury Retreat, their adult children settle into the Bunker, where they will have a unique insight and power over their parents’ dating life – and they’re not going to hold back, regardless of how excruciatingly awkward some moments are.

The kids will have the power to influence all the dates from the comfort of the Bunker. Taking their influence to the next level, they will go undercover on dates to see firsthand who is best suited for their parents – and also have the power to send parents home.

Kate said:

“I was honoured to host this second season of My Mum Your Dad. It is compelling and uplifting. It is a testament to the power of love. I laughed and I cried. Mostly I was struck by the unselfish gift these children are giving their parents, for love is the greatest gift of all.”

There will be truth bombs, drama and romance from parents and their children on the journey to the ultimate test, the Blessing Ceremony.

For the relationships that make it there, the children’s approval or disapproval is crunch time, and all emotions and thoughts will be revealed at the Blessing Ceremony in the finale.

These brave single parents have put their hearts on the line. Will there be a love story? Will their offspring approve? Or will their second chance at love be left at the Blessing Ceremony?

Mums and their kids

Rebecca, 52 – QLD
Fashion Retail Employee, Mother of Two

Rebecca is flirty, quirky, and always makes people laugh. She was adopted as a mixed race child and grew up as a proud First Nations woman.

Rebecca separated from her husband six years ago, has dipped her toe in the dating pond a few times since, and is now ready to dive in head first. She hasn’t been on a date in over a year.

DAUGHTER: Gracie, 20 – QLD
Gracie is a retail assistant manager, and she and mum have a wicked sense of humour. They have a role-reversal relationship where Gracie finds herself being the mum a lot of the time. She wants to choose her “daddy”.

Nadia, 47 – QLD
Personal Trainer/Events Planner, Mother of Five

Nadia is a fiercely independent woman trying to allow herself to be taken care of when dating.

Nadia was married for 16 years. Since her divorce she has kept her dating life private from her kids and has never introduced a man to them – even an ex-partner of two years.

Nadia says she’s not picky, but she does have a long list of preferences for a potential partner: tall, educated, ambitious, fit, kind, generous, confident and down to earth. She can’t stand arrogant men.

She also struggles at times to find the balance between her Muslim upbringing and the pitfalls of modern dating.

DAUGHTER: Mona, 25 – QLD
Mona is an influencer and her mum’s “right hand”. She describes Nadia as passionate, loving, hard-headed and decisive.

Michelle, 48 – WA
Cafe Owner, Mother of Two

Michelle is a self-confessed fixer who always ends up with men that need her help. She is energetic and loud but struggles to be vulnerable. She’s very independent and finds it hard to let go of being in control.

Michelle was with Jesse’s dad for ten years, but the relationship fell apart because they got together too young. Her last relationship was toxic and ended three years ago.

Michelle says she’s ready to let go of control now and doesn’t want to fix broken men anymore.

SON: Jesse, 26 – WA
Jesse works at a winery and is a very confident alpha male. He’s extremely protective, and sick of seeing his mum ending up with losers. He’s happy to have control over Michelle’s dating life and wants her to find someone genuine who fits in with the family.

Dani, 51 – VIC
Interior Decorator, Mother of Three

Dani has no trouble getting attention from men and is a people-pleaser. She tragically lost her third husband in 2019 from cardiac arrest. He was her “Mr Right”.

Single for four years now, Dani knows there will be people who don’t agree with her looking for love again, but she doesn’t want to sit on the sidelines forever and feels that now is the right time to meet someone. She feels like a butterfly that is re-emerging.

Dani doesn’t have a type preference, but wants a funny guy who can put up with all her talking. A strong, stable man who can cope with the fact that she’s a widow.

SON: Brandon, 28 – VIC
Brandon manages his late stepdad’s former gym and is very protective of his mum. He wants her to be happy after seeing how hurt she was by Paul’s death, but he believes she has a tendency to mould into the person she is dating and not be her own person.

Janine, 53 – NSW
Aged Care Nurse, Mother of Two

Janine doesn’t find it hard to find a man – she’s been dating online, and up until going on the show was out on three dates a week.

Janine has had two marriages. The first broke down due to infidelity. She’s quick to judge and kicks men to the kerb easily.

Janine wants a gentleman who’s at least a six-footer. He has to be handsome, fun, have no baggage, and look after himself. She definitely doesn’t want a guy who has tattoos of his ex, smokes, or has black teeth.

DAUGHTER: Tiarn, 22 – NSW
Tiarn is a teaching student who does everything with her mum. There’s nothing they wouldn’t do for each other, and she’s not afraid to tell her mum if someone isn’t right for her.

Kim, 57 – WA
Airline Customer Service Agent, Mother of One

Confident Kim gets a lot of male attention. She goes for good-looking guys who always have lots of women after them.

Kim was brought up with a “Stepford wife” mentality but says that hasn’t helped her hold down a man. She says there’s slim pickings in WA and is considering moving to the East Coast to find Mr Perfect. Kim split from Chelsea’s dad when she was one.

Her ideal man is tall (over 6 foot, 183 cm), well-groomed, confident, and dresses nicely. She wants a guy to chase her and make the first move, but isn’t shy in letting someone know she’s interested.

DAUGHTER: Chelsea, 21 – WA
Chelsea is a real estate agent who is happy to take control of mum’s dating life. She thinks her mum loves red flags and falls too easily.

Donna, 51 – SA
Physiotherapist Receptionist, Mother of Four

Donna is a bright and vivacious woman who thinks there’s a man drought in Adelaide.

Her ex-fiance broke off their engagement and she’s been single now for three years.

Donna wants someone who is willing to get to know her, accepts her past, and will love her unconditionally. She loves a tall man in a suit.

DAUGHTER: Steph, 27 – SA
Steph is a disability support worker who wants her mum to finally be happy. Steph thinks Donna’s ideal man must be cashed-up, love to travel, and have good manners.

Dads and their kids

Tom (“Boss”) 53 – NSW
Businessman, Father of One

Tom owns a mortgage broking business and is hugely successful. So much so that he is now known around town as “Boss”. He is looking for a partner who complements his life, not someone who wants to leech off him.

Boss was born in Austria to a Slovakian mother. They moved to Australia when he was nine. His mum was his best friend, and she passed away three years ago. Boss still gets choked up talking about it. He feels so close to Chloe because she reminds him of his mum.

After his divorce eight years ago Boss got engaged to another woman. They attempted to blend their families, but the relationship fell apart.

DAUGHTER: Chloe, 21 – QLD
Chloe was recently the Queensland representative for the Miss Universe contest. But she’s not just a pretty face: she has attitude and intelligence and commands a room.

Shannon, 51 – QLD
Real Estate Agent, Father of Three

Shannon is a successful real estate agent from Noosa. He’s charming and warm with a fun side. It’s clear that his three kids are his number one priority.

Shannon has only been in two long-term relationships and is looking for a woman to share his life with. He needs to regain his confidence and learn to love himself before he can love someone else again.

Shannon says his ex-wife is his best friend. They were together for 30 years. She encouraged him to audition for the show and currently has another partner. Shannon’s other relationship lasted seven years and ended last year, leaving him with a broken heart.

DAUGHTER: Katie, 19 – QLD
Katie is very protective of her father and believes honesty is the best policy. She is super confident and has a big presence.

Masi, 52 – QLD
Landscaping Business Owner, Father of Three

Masi is a Gold Coast ladies man. He has no trouble meeting women but can’t seem to find someone on his level. He only dates women younger than him.

Masi and his wife divorced seven years ago. Since then he’s had two serious relationships and has now been single for a year.

He is looking for a woman who is fit, likes the beach and the outdoors, is energetic and active. Since his kids are all grown up, he doesn’t want a woman who has young children.

SON: Harper, 18 – QLD

Harper is a landscaper with a super-cool vibe. He admires his dad and wants to support him on his journey to find love, but thinks he should maybe change his dating age demographic.

Simmo, 54 – NSW
Cafe/Wine Bar Owner, Father of Three

Simmo is a relaxed surfer guy and proud father. Daughter Sarah is his best friend – they live, work and go out together. He loves the beach, fine wine and good food.

Simmo and his wife divorced after falling out of love. His most recent relationship left him heartbroken when his fiancée broke off the engagement. He has struggled to open up since.

Simmo is looking for the female version of himself. His ideal woman would be Jennifer Aniston.

DAUGHTER: Sarah “Chook”, 21 – NSW

Chook manages her dad’s cafe/wine bar and thinks Simmo gets a lot of female attention at work, but doesn’t even notice.

Wes, 49 – NSW
Foreman, Father of One

Wes is a typical Aussie bloke: he surfs, swims, snowboards and rides a dirt bike. He’s the type of guy who gets a lot of female attention. He’s a straight talker ready to find love.

Wes and his son Jake’s mum separated 19 years ago. He’s since had a serious relationship that ended when his partner cheated on him. Now he’s been single for five years and says he’s only been in love once.

SON: Jake, 21 – NSW
Jake is just like his dad and loves all the adrenaline-pumping activities too. His mates describe Wes as “a cool oldie”. He thinks it’s time for his dad to finally meet someone.

Ben, 51 – NSW
International Pilot, Father of Four

Ben is an adventurous international pilot who has dreams of sailing the world. However, he has found it hard to find a connection due to his job.

Ben was married for 10 years and has been on dating apps with no luck. Flying makes it logistically hard to meet someone.

His ideal woman is someone who has a kind, giving heart and an adventurous spirit. He’s very close with his kids, so his deal breaker is their non-acceptance.

TWINS: Jasmine and Jaxon, 18 – NSW
Jasmine is an aviation student and Jaxon is a chef. Jasmine is also her dad’s personal psychologist. They’re cutthroat with their dating advice and want him to find someone who is family-orientated, smart, and loves the beach.

My Mum, Your Dad premieres Tuesday and continues Wednesday 7:30pm on Nine and 9NOW.
